The Nellie Peck

Just renovated into a hotel room. Located on the second floor of the Riverfront adjoining buildings overlooking 3rd st (main) it’s a 2 bedroom suite with a king canopy and queen second bedroom. Themed in hunting, it has large leather electric recliners, massive tub with a rain shower so big you can float, original yellow pine flooring, large skylight. 10 ft ceiling.

River Rose Hotel
Once one of the first banks in Yankton, still has the old safe in the Danforth. Each room is named after a bank director or president in Yankton..Each has it’sown personalty ans story to tell
The Danforth Suite.
$125 a night
This was once the entry to the bank, teller area in the late 1800’s. The ornate woodwork, tall windows are wonderful. King bed full kitchen, living room, whirlpool bath, about 1200 sq. ft. Private entry. Used mostly as the bridal suite.
The Danforths’ owned many buildings in the downtown, including the what is now First Dakota Bank in the 1800’s. They were very instrumental in the development of Yankton for over a hundred years. Their grandson Charlie Gross, has been the mayor and commissioner in Yankton for almost 20 years.
Mrs Danforth was a highly intelligent and a very prominent leader and figure in Yankton, even before woman could vote.
The McVay Suite

Once the bank President’s office, it is said to be haunted with a beautiful woman that is attracted to handsome men who have their wives with them. Since it’s only handsome men, we are not sure how many sightings they have actually been only confirmed 4. However many men have said she visited them. She is fully visible down to the color of her dress and hair.
The Fantles Suite

Located on second floor, kin size bed with large claw foot tub on pink marble the bedroom. Separate full bathroom as well, Parlor with a trundle bed.
Fantles was the department located where the Event Center is. One the headquarters of someone of the finest woman’s fashion. Opened their doors in mid 1800’s closed the Yankton store, the last of 6, in 1996.
The Heaton Suite
$155 a night
This suite overlooks 3rd st (main st) on second floor what used to be the bank book keeping floor and offices…2 bedrooms, one with a queen the other with a queen and a full size. full bathroom, kitchen with no stove, living room. Styled in the 1930 and 40’s era,
Mr Heaton was said to be a young version of Warren Buffet, Always looking for next deal to make money.
WH Suite
$300 a night
This 2,500 sq. ft suite has a diverse use. Used for events or a family hotel. 2 separate bedrooms, large living room, 3 TV. bar, large kitchen 2 1/2 baths, one tub/shower and one shower all separate which makes it easier for everyone to get ready at once.

10 rooms All rooms are $115 a night before discounts for extended stays and off season
Rooms completed in 2017 originally a movie theater, then a social services office building. Now an wonderful example of modern rooms with collapsible furniture. Each room has a small kitchenette, with convection ovens, 2 burner stove top, frig, microwave, hair hair dryers onsite laundry, all ground level units. Large lobby. Used quite a bit for extended stays.
